My name is Makita and I am a fully qualified Science and Maths teacher with a PGCE teaching qualification in Science specialising in Physics from UCL, additionally I graduated with a 2.1 Master's degree in Physics with Astrophysics.
I have 10+ years of private tutoring experience as well as 4 years’ classroom teaching experience. Before making the transition to teaching, I worked as a pricing actuary for a top 4 re-insurance company SCOR.
I have experience teaching in a variety of schools in London and East Sussex, including those in state and private sectors. I have acted as the deputy head of the physics department during my last position at a small private school in East Sussex.
I have knowledge teaching the AQA, OCR, Edexcel and iGCSE curriculums and have access to all teaching resources and tailor to the needs of my students. I am experienced in helping students to pass their course to those looking to achieve extraordinary results!

I am a kind, caring and enthusiastic teacher who believes that each child's learning journey is unique. I have taught a variety of children with Special Educational Needs and have appropriate training to support children with Anxiety, Autism and other learning needs both inside the classroom and in a home learning environment online.
I have a calm, patient and nurturing approach. I encourage students to be curious and ask lots of questions, it is important to me that my students learn not just the facts but how to think independently.

I offer unique tuition using technology that optimises engagement including interactive whiteboard so me and the student can work on problems together, online experiments, science & maths simulations and videos.
